Investing in the Eternal

Investing in the Eternal In the parable of the talents (Matt 25), Jesus tells us about the servant who hid his master’s funds in the ground, to keep them safe. The Message translation gives us Jesus’ shocking reply, “That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least?” Challenging words to us all.

We are called make the most of what we’re given; to invest our time, prayer, and resources in furthering the Kingdom of God.

Our Ministry Training Scheme

One of the ways we’ve been investing at Frontiers has been our Ministry Training Scheme (MTS). Our third trainee joined us in December, and will be spending at least the next year working with us at the office and with a team reaching out to Muslims in east London.

Our first trainee, who finished his time with us last year, is now pursuing long-term work in the Gulf. He had this to say about his time with us:

“The MTS has been a wonderful introduction to, and foundation for, pioneering gospel work amongst the unreached. It’s been a hugely formative two years and I’ve gained friends and mentors for life.”

We would love to open this opportunity up to more young people looking to share the love of Jesus with Muslims in some of the least reached places on earth. Trainees partly raise their own support, but it costs us about £14,000 to fund each trainee per year. If you’d like something new to invest in, then please consider partnering with us to expand this programme.
